“Apple Picking” (featured below), was photographed by Margo Neely at Jaeschke’s Orchard in Adams. She commented, “This stealthily captured candid of my children, Alessandra (age five) and Thomas (age two), was a genuine moment of joy, peace, and love caught on film. In an otherwise challenging year, to see my children together in nature—happy, healthy, and full of wonder—was an absolutely magical moment.”

The photograph was the grand prize winner of Berkshire Magazine’s “Moments of Happiness” photo contest (2020). Panel judges were Olivier Mesley, Hardymon Director of the Clark Art Institute, Stephanie Plunkett, Deputy Director and Chief Curator of the Norman Rockwell Museum, and Dr. Joshua Sherman, Publisher of Old Mill Road Media.

Flattering Words From
Distinguished Professionals

  • "I like the sharpness of the photograph, but also the contrast between the visual complexity of the apple tree, its age, and the youth with their innocence."
