LADIES REVENGE CLUB

Margo Neely was the visionary creator, co-writer, director, and showrunner of Ladies Revenge Club (2010; Festival Debut 2015), one of the earliest full-length television series produced specifically for streaming platforms. At a time when digital-first series were often limited in scope or quality, Neely pioneered a technologically innovative production method that anticipated later industry standards. She devised and blueprinted the concept of filming the series entirely on a volume—a space equipped with rear projection rather than green screen—and personally designed every digital environment used in the show.
The project was realized in collaboration with co-writer David Crabb (The Groundlings, The Moth, Stick with Owen Wilson); co-executive producer Matt Neely (Emmy Award-winning producer); and executive producers Axis Theatre Company. Additional key collaborators included producer Brian David Sloan; assistant director Yoni Golijov (Academy Award and BAFTA nominee); Emmy Award-winning lighting designer David Zeffren; Daniel Popov overseeing projection engineering; Emmy nominee Marc Lesser offering supplementary cinematography; and Director of Photography, scenic/digital designer Sean Martin. Working in the state-of-the-art space at One Sheridan Square, the team adapted theatrical stagecraft and advanced lighting techniques to screen media, creating a production methodology that anticipated contemporary virtual production practices.
In addition to its technological innovation, Ladies Revenge Club deployed a comprehensive transmedia strategy: Supplemental second-screen media, merchandise, and a dedicated web platform (LadiesRevengeClub.com) enriched the narrative universe and deepened audience engagement.
The series toured internationally with GeekFest Film Festival, receiving Best of the Fest and Best Short awards at New York Comic Con/New York Super Week. Industry recognition followed when The Real Stan Lee spotlighted the project, calling Neely a “creative mastermind.”
By merging narrative ambition with pioneering production design, Ladies Revenge Club demonstrated the viability of independent innovation in shaping the future of serialized storytelling in the streaming era.
