argo Neely (SAG-AFTRA • AEA) is an internationally recognized polymath creator, inventor, and CEO whose work has pioneered new technologies, media forms, and cultural systems—often years before markets or institutions were ready to name them—achieved organically through practice, experimentation, and execution, rather than trend-following or traditional pipelines.
Since 2007, she has served as Founder and CEO of Neely (formerly Neely and Daughters), a studio and invention platform through which she conceives, designs, engineers, and launches original intellectual property at the intersection of art, technology, culture, and human behavior. Her work is frequently cited as precedent-setting and has been studied, reverse-engineered, and taught across academic, industry, and media contexts worldwide.
Margo is best known as the inventor of the Neely Air Freestyle • Neely 33 Sound Shoe, a wearable drum-machine technology that fused music production, movement, and design into a category-defining object, achieving more than six billion in global reach and fifty-four million fans organically, later developed in collaboration with engineering teams at the University of Massachusetts Amherst.
She is also the Creator and Director of Ladies Revenge Club, the award-winning streaming television series, named “Best of the Festival” and “Best Series” winner at New York Comic Con/New York Super Week’s Geekfest for its innovative narrative and production model. Neely has been dubbed a “Viral Wonder” (The Disruptor Awards), “The New Media Queen” (Berkshire Eagle), and “A Creative Mastermind” by Stan Lee of Marvel Comics fame.
Since 2020, Margo has served as a visiting lecturer and industry collaborator at the UMass Amherst Riccio College of Engineering, leading multiple interdisciplinary teams who have studied, prototyped, and built her technologies, and at the Isenberg School of Management, where her work has been used as a formal case study in product strategy and development. She has also lectured at Williams College under the Chair of the Economics Department on the real-world costs of entrepreneurship and innovation.
Margo’s work has been featured in more than 350 international publications including BBC News, VICE, Gizmodo Japan, DJ Mag, and Campaign Magazine. She is a University Honors Scholar, Founders’ Day Award recipient, magna cum laude graduate of New York University, and divides her time between New York City and the Berkshires.
